Ne rabi biti sarkazem. Imajo registrirano dejavnost, ob nakupu robe ti ponudijo še "nalepko", predvsem pa živijo od naših nakupov. Vprašanje pa je, če je volja, ker smo v slovenistanu vsi skregani med seboj.

NRA drops lawsuit over San Francisco's 'domestic terrorism organization' label

The National Rifle Association dropped a lawsuit Thursday against the city of San Francisco for passing a measure that labeled the group a “domestic terror organization.”
“We’re pleased the NRA backed down on its frivolous lawsuit. This was a baseless attempt to silence San Francisco’s valid criticisms of the NRA and distract from the gun violence epidemic facing our country,” San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera said in a written statement to KTVU.

The NRA sued the city after lawmakers passed a measure classifying the Second Amendment advocacy group as a “terrorist organization.”


The city’s board of supervisors said the NRA is causing “an epidemic of gun violence” by using “its considerable wealth and organization strength to promote gun ownership and incite gun owners to acts of violence.”
The NRA called the measure a “stunt” and sued the city a week later for free speech infringement, accusing city officials of trying to ice the NRA out of the city.
After San Francisco Mayor London Breed told city departments the following month to disregard the board’s terrorist designation, the NRA called it a “clear concession” and declared itself victorious.
NRA attorney William A. Brewer III said that despite its lawsuit withdrawal, the group believes this is a “victory.”
“Today the NRA withdrew its lawsuit in SF — and now celebrates the important victory it obtained on behalf of its members,” he said, according to KTVU. “As has been widely reported, after the Association challenged the unconstitutional resolution, the city beat a hasty retreat and backed down from its wildly illegal blacklisting scheme.
“The censors are on notice. The NRA will always fight for the Constitution, and will re-file if the city tries anything like this in the future,” he added.
Mr. Herrera said in his statement that “San Francisco will never be intimidated by the NRA.”
“If the NRA doesn’t want to be publicly condemned for its actions, it should stop sabotaging common-sense gun safety regulations that would protect untold numbers of Americans every year, like universal background checks, an assault weapons ban, and restrictions on high-capacity magazines,” Mr. Herrera wrote.

The National Rifle Association previously agreed to pay $6.5 million to buy a mansion for CEO Wayne LaPierre, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
A top NRA executive, then-Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Wilson H. Phillips Jr., signed a document in May 2018 promising the gun lobby would contribute $6.5 million for 99% ownership of a company formed to buy a Dallas mansion for LaPierre, according to a copy of the document reviewed by the Journal. The NRA and its then-outside advertising firm, Ackerman McQueen, told the Journal that the planning to buy the home started in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, mass shooting, when LaPierre had concerns about his safety. The deal ultimately fell through.

The report comes as the NRA faces intense scrutiny of its finances, internal turmoil and leadership changes. New York Attorney General Letitia James in April launched an inquiry into the organization, which is chartered in New York. A gun-control group has also filed a complaint with the IRS, challenging the NRA's tax-exempt status.
Earlier this year, the NRA ousted its president, Oliver North, following a dispute with LaPierre in which North accused him of financial misconduct, according to the Journal.
NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam told the Journal: "As we have said repeatedly, neither Mr. LaPierre nor the Board ever formally considered, much less approved, an investment in the house in question or the other properties shown by Ackerman McQueen's real estate agent."

The NRA earlier this year ended its contract with Ackerman McQueen, and the gun lobby has filed lawsuits against its longtime advertising firm accusing it of breach of contract and claims the firm tried to engineer a failed coup against LaPierre. LaPierre had billed Ackerman McQueen for more than $540,000 in clothing and travel expenses, according to the Journal.
Ackerman McQueen recently turned over information about the deal related to the house purchase to the New York Attorney General's Office, a person familiar with the matter previously told the Journal.
LaPierre and his wife, Susan, reportedly toured the house -- a 10,000-square-foot mansion in a gated golf community near Dallas -- two times. Ackerman McQueen agreed at the time to help facilitate the transaction and manage the property after closing, the Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter.

Če direktor ne bi bil ustrezno plačan, bi se pa uvlačil tisti stranki, od katere bi imel največ koristi, pa pridemo počasi do zasebnega interesa in posledično do stanja v katerem se nahaja naša realnost ..

Kdor spremlja situacijo v ZDA je lahko opazil da Silicon valley zelo efektivno duši kakršno koli uporništvo mainstream idejam ,ki jih prodajajo oni , , kar nekaj medijev ki so bili še pred pol let ali več alternativni so pospravili kremple , namazali zadnjice z vazelinom in zdaj samo še malce razglašeno javkajo , enako se dogaja z organizacijami kot je NRA preprosto so se ustrašl , te nepravilnosti ki jih imajo pa so jih naredile precej ranljive tako ,da so zdaj bolj kot ne tiho in se strinjajo z raznimi zaostritvami ,ki se sprejemanjo po državah znotraj ZDA .

Je pa zanimivo da se zdaj tud streljajo ne .le kaj se dogaja da je temu tako?

The Supreme Court said Tuesday that it would allow a lawsuit against the gunmaker Remington filed by a survivor and the families of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre to proceed. The defendants say the company should be held liable for its role in marketing one of the assault-style rifles used in the shooting.

The court said it had rejected an appeal from Remington, which had argued that it should be shielded from such a suit under a 2005 federal law designed to prevent gun manufacturers from being held liable in most cases when their guns are used in crimes.

A divided Connecticut Supreme Court had said in a 4-3 ruling in March that Remington could be sued for how it marketed the Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle — one of the guns that Adam Lanza used to kill 20 children and six educators at the school in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012. In its ruling, the state Supreme Court cited an exception to the 2005 law, called the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

That ruling had overturned a lower court ruling that said the suit should be voided.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Tuesday allows the state's high court ruling to stand, meaning the lawsuit can go forward.

The plaintiffs include a survivor and relatives of nine people killed at Sandy Hook. They have argued that the Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle, an AR-15-style rifle, should not be used by the general public and that Remington had illegally marketed it by glorifying its use to civilians.


Remington, which has received the backing of National Rifle Association and other prominent gun lobbying groups regarding the suit, has denied any wrongdoing.

The case has been closely watched by gun rights supporters and gun control advocates across the country, with many pointing to it as having the potential to affect other cases accusing gunmakers of being responsible for mass shootings.

Remington filed for bankruptcy in 2018 amid years of slumping sales and legal and financial pressure over the Sandy Hook school shooting.

Ampak koncept da lahko tožiš prozvajalca zato ker je nekdo produkt uporabil v kriminalni namen , je čist noro.

Po tej logiki bi lahko tožili proizvajalce avtomobilov, ko bi nekdo šel čez omejitev in povzročil nesrečo a smrtnim izidom.
